A NOTE FROM OUR FOUNDER

To Our Precious Veterans, Valued Donors, and Forever Young Family,

After 20 years of ministry to our senior veterans, I have decided to retire and close our nonprofit. This decision was unanimously supported by the FYV Board of Directors. As you may know, this ministry was born out of the personal pain of my father, who suffered from combat stress after fighting in WWII. I witnessed firsthand the sacrifice of war in his life and its painful effects within our own family. However, what seemed to be a tragedy early on has actually brought healing to many lives.

I don’t think I would have started FYV without experiencing my dad’s suffering, which is a clear example of how goodness can come from hardship. These past two decades with FYV have been the best of my life, and I will always treasure them. Right now, we are still operating, but plan on dissolving soon. We will experience some changes in the coming months, but one thing that will never fade is my love for our veterans. I will continue to honor our heroes in other ways and will keep you posted on the future.

Our Forever Young Veterans Meeting at Germantown Baptist Church will continue, and I look forward to seeing you there. If you need to contact me, please call 901-299-7516.

With great love and respect,

Diane Hight
